I always get annoyed when I find myself devoting a lot of time writing for other people’s websites. The pay isn’t fantastic, but I research my keywords and make sure that the job is well done. I know that the people paying me will end up making more in the long run than I am making.
On the Demand Studios forums someone was sort of condemning the idea of building her own website, criticizing another writer for thinking she could possibly make more on her own. I thought that was a shame- I try to make it a rule to pay myself first. Lately, for every article I publish on another site, I’m also adding an article to one of my websites. It’s just the smart thing to do.
On my work schedule, I have each of my sites listed in rotation, so that they all get content added at least three times a month.
Because no one should profit more from your efforts than you.
